James Toseland, on account of the protracted time needed for recovery from his injury, will be substituted in the Misano and Aragon competitions by Italian rider Lorenzo Lanzi.

Misano, 9 June 2011 – Last evening James Toseland underwent a new sonogram. The exam showed that his wrist, injured during
the private tests conducted in Aragon by the BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team and further stressed during the Miller race, is not in
optimum condition to participate in the Misano event.

To allow for the best possible physical recovery of James, the BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team, in agreement with the rider, has
decided to let him rest for the next two competitions.

Racing for the team at Misano Adriatico (IT) and Aragon (ES) will be Italian rider Lorenzo Lanzi.

Lorenzo Lanzi, age 29, has good international experience. He made his debut in 1996 riding an Aprilia RS in the Italian Sport
Production Championship, moving on in 2001 to the World Motorcycle Championship in the 250 class.

In 2003 he debuted in the FIM Superstock Cup with the Ducati team; the following year he took part in the World Supersport
Championship, and starting in 2005 he was lined up in the World Superbike Championship where, riding for various teams, he
continued to race until 2010. In the World SBK Championship he claimed three victories – two in 2005 and the third in 2008.
In 2010 he was on the podium in the first race in Imola.
