Misano Adriatico - Preview

BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team - Misano Adriatico - Preview

The Miller Motorsports Park result - where Badovini took ninth and seventh places - is a big incentive for the BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team for the "Misano World Circuit" race next weekend.

After returning at Miller, James Toseland participated in only the first race because his wrist was causing a problem, but continues to improve. James is not yet 100% physically fit but has had good results at Misano where he took a second place podium in 2006 and has missed the podium by one position, finishing fourth, three times.

Ayrton Badovini, has a win to his name at the Romagna circuit from his Superstock 1000 FIM Cup campaign, but has yet to collect points in World Superbikes. Ayrton is returning to the track with the confidence from America where he finished in the top ten in both races.

Also at Misano, the FIM Superstock Cup will hold its next round. Last time out Lorenzo Zanetti took third place in the standings – after winning by 13 lengths from Giugliano (Ducati) – while Sylvain Barrier lies in sixth. The victory at Monza has certainly increased Lorenzo’s confidence, while the Frenchman will be aiming for the front after his podium at Assen. In the March CIV round both BMW Motorrad Italy Superstock Team riders were on the podium.

Serafino Foti, sporting director of BMW Motorrad Italy Superstock team, said: "We head into the Misano race with confidence, having Ayrton’s good solid result from Miller. Everything will depend on the variable weather that’s forecast. As for James, he is not 100% yet but is definitely better than at Miller. We’re not expecting top results but hope that he can compete in both races. In Superstock we are positive and hope to have a good race with both riders, thanks to some new developments being implemented for Misano".
